About Canton Michigan

In between mega-city Detroit and Ann Arbor, Canton, Michigan is one of the fastest growing and most-desirable cities in the state for a variety of reasons. One of the most attractive things about Canton is that it is the 20th safest city to live in the United States, with extremely low crime rates each year for a city of nearly 90,000. This is based on major crime rates including auto theft, rape, murder, burglary, and aggravated assault, serious problems in many cities of this size.
There are many cultural events in Canton that attract both tourists and potential residents, including art festivals, seasonal theater events, parades, and farmer’s markets. Although these will vary widely depending on what time of year it is, there is nearly always something exciting going on in Canton. One of the most famous events each year is the Annual Liberty Fest, typically held in May-early July.
The city is also rich in historic monuments and learning opportunities, making it a popular destination for families with school-age children. From the Bartlett-Travis house to the Cady/Boyer Barn and then off to Cherry Hill School, there are many creative ways to turn a summer vacation into a unique opportunity to teach children about where their ancestors came from and how they lived over a hundred years ago. Another point of interest is the fact that the town takes great pride in their school district, and there are indeed many different types of schools, public and private, for children of all ages.
Canton also offers unique housing opportunities for those needing a short-term home while a permanent home is found or repaired. Whether one is moving due to job relocation, healthcare requirements, or due to a natural disaster, corporate housing is a very logical answer to a tough question. These homes are fully furnished (from blankets to glasses) and offer very reasonable rates and flexible lease arrangements, removing nearly all of the hassle out of moving suddenly and/or unexpectedly.
